How often do you buy lingerie (girls), do you make do or replace when money is tight?

I have a needlework set and I know how to knit lace, so I can repair my underwear when it’s necessary, but some are getting to be unsalvagable and need to be consigned to the rubbish bin!

I’m used to fairly expensive lingerie and I am very much looking at replacing it with basic styles to ensure it lasts. Not a happy venture. I’m still hand washing my very delicate pieces as the washing machine here is old and a little savage!

I’m hoping my parents will send lingerie as my birthday present next month, as I have asked them to!

My Wife has me put her things in a mesh laundry bag tied securely with a draw string and I knot it to ensure it does not open.. We have a front loading machine that is gentle on things and as they are in the laundry bag she drys them in the gas dryer this was as well.. essentially zero wear / tear this way...

Maybe you can have some basic styles for your day-to-day wear, but keep the expensive, higher quality lingerie for special occasions.

And remember, it’s not your parents that should be buying your lingerie, it’s your boyfriend. (or girlfriend!)

@DaliaCQ it depends what sort of dance troup you are. Some dance outfits are extremely expensive, but surprisingly, even the scantiest of outfits are costly.

When I was a student I used to repair my worn-out knickers . . I still will if something I am particularly fond of.
