I Am a Thinker

The bible says the path to heaven is a very narrow one. I don't think God excludes 99% of the population from heaven

In the gospel of John, Jesus instructs a certain pharisee named Nicodemus that he must be born-again to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 How can anyone be born again? You'd have to shrink substantially first.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
@NakedExperiment Jesus means being spiritually reborn, not physically. "Verily verily I say unto thee, except a man be born-again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 Where does it say spiritually?

Also, what does "spiritually" mean?
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
@NakedExperiment what I mean is that the person must convert to a personal faith in Jesus Christ. thats what being born again means
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 I've read the whole Bible and don't remember an explanation as to what "born again" means. I'm worried that falls into the trap of interpretation.

Your explanation implies that someone who already has a personal faith (eg from childhood) in Jesus cannot be born again?
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
@NakedExperiment What im trying to say, is that when you convert to a personal faith in JESUS and you place your faith and trust into him for your salvation. you thus become "Born-again"

What does it mean by "spirit"?
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
What is my "salvation"? I'm not sure what that means in this context. Obviously, I know what the word means.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
@NakedExperiment Salvation means that you are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and going to Heaven, Not Hell
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
in a nut shell, basically
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 I don't want to go to Heaven or Hell. Both are bad options.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
@NakedExperiment Jesus loves you, he wants you to come to repentance and believe in him. I gave my life to Jesus in 2016, havent looked back since
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 Repent what? I haven't done anything.
FailedToFetch · 56-60, M
@NakedExperiment It's a mafia thing..
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 I gave my life to my wife many years ago. It would be breaking a promise to give it to someone else.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
The choice is ultimately in your hands, all I can do is place you in the right direction, and that direction is to repentance and belief in Christ. The bible says "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"
FailedToFetch · 56-60, M
@NakedExperiment Isn't it funny that the good fellas think anyone else is in the 'wrong'? Because that's what they do.
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 Can I point something out? Belief is NOT a choice. I can't force myself to believe anything.

If Jesus communicated in some sensible, upfront way then I could believe. What I cannot get around right now is that it sounds like nonsense.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
You have free will. Thus believing something IS a choice.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
You need to repent
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 Saying that belief is a choice is equivalent to saying the sky is cheese. It's wrong, so completely, utterly, totally wrong that words fail me.
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 Why do I need to repent?
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@JoeyRay1989 Free will has limitations.
JoeyRay1989 · 31-35, M
Because you are in danger of hellfire that is why you need to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. You cant enter into the kingdom of God unless your born again. You have free will to choose wether you do that or not
