Why are people like this?

Have you ever known someone with a dangerous job or lifestyle and you find yourself worrying more for that person than they do themselves? While you sit holding your breath on pins and needles they seem so nonchalant as if they couldn't have just lost their life at any given moment.

Yes. I've felt worry for a few people, and had others feel it for me.

Eventually you realize the worry doesn't help or change anything. Maybe it's faith or fatalisim, but accepting that life will do what it does in it's own time lifts a lot of burdens.
