Let’s talk about reciprocity

This describes every one of my relationships, romantic or otherwise. It works fine as long as everyone keeps their expectations in check and works to bridge those imbalances. If not though, boy howdy you're in for a rough time.

Neither, there'd be no balance in either of the relations. As mentioned by someone else, it'll be difficult to make it 50/50 as we perceive and value aspects differently from each other. But there's need of some sorts of balance to make it a working relation for my own part.

Reciprocity isn’t necessarily a goal, and there is no true 50/50....there’s always some discrepancy between how much each person cares for the other.
You’d be happier in the first scenario....at least until you find out that the other person doesn’t care so much for you (of course, sometimes that can change as well and you might possibly avoid that....I’ve seen it happen).
Having someone who loves you but can’t meet or understand your needs can be OK as long as you’re not depending on them to do that.
Neither scenario is great for a lasting romantic relationship.

First scenario would eat at me, I think. 😅
Second scenario would meke me feel a bit like a bad guy for not giving back the love.

Not sure which one is worse tbh. 😕

Solo is better coz no one can ever satisfy anyone completely coz that contentment is ingrained in ones' own self.
