is it unusual to have 'carers' when you're in your late 40s

i'm getting great support now for my disabilities by the mental health services, have a great social worker, i'm also in the process of being tested for autism, as that's been suspected by others close to me....also, my mental health team have got me a carer service, where i get female carers a couple of times a week, for a couple of hours each day...they visit me and help me with whatever i need help with, if i want to stay in or go out somewhere...it's up to me....the pressure is taken off.

i'm very thankful and grateful for the support i have now as i haven't always had great support....but it occurred to me is it a bit unusual to have carers visiting you in your late 40s? because i associated care workers with invalids or old aged pensioners who can't take care of themselves anymore, who are without family and friends? but not for me, a middle aged man in his late 40s.

I think you should not worry about if it is unusual. Or how other people think. Just continue to focus on what makes you happy.

@LadyShagw0rthy wise words and i concur, i don't necessarily 'worry' what people think, it's just a thought that popped in my brain recently.
