Honestly, you just can’t take it personally. Someone I’d just seen around who had never spoken reached out via pm, but stopped when he realized that I’m a senior. I don’t post my age to avoid being targeted, but it’s no secret and I discuss it often. I’m not here looking for a date—which I also make clear. I have made long term friends here and I enjoy talking with them via pm.
I find it worth the occasional disappointment, which is just like offline friendships, isn’t it ? But of course it’s a personal choice.

@bijouxbroussard I care because I enjoy genuine connections, not fickle stuff, thats why I don't invest myself anymore talking with people that simply don't care and just want distractions and feel happier focusing on other things that make me feel better.

@Lovebird Well, as I said, it’s a personal choice. You’re not obligated to do anything you don’t want to.

@Lovebird biggest issue online is finding genuine people
And when you think they are real and you have shared a lot
They disappear for you while being still online
