I genuinely do long for someone to really know me. And I’d love to really know someone, too.

It really is hard to make friends as an adult. I know I was feeling pretty isolated for a while. 2 years ago, I created a group based on one of my hobbies and I now have a good circle of friends. We meet once a week and share our lives.

I know that isn't quite what you mean, but it is a step forward to getting out there and meeting people.

It's more difficult to make genuine friends as an adult. You are not alone.
