People are odd

It is odd that a person saves down a picture and claims it to be one they have taken.

It is odder when that picture is clearly artificially enhanced.

The weirdest part is all of those who congratulate them on such a wonderful picture.... i mean really.

This is a picture of an otter that i took and is not enhanced.

This is a stock AI image from the world wide web

It’s interesting. The whole, “what is art? “ debate has been around for a long time, but I think, with the boom in AI images and filters, to preserve ’art’, particularly for the art community’s sake, some sort of definition will have to be finally generally agreed upon (‘ar’t vs. images). It hasn’t really been necessary before because, as competitive as the art world is, no one was debating the artistry it took to draw/paint, hyper realism, surrealism, etc..and nobody wanted the validity of their own art being undermined like it was during classical art periods. Digital art was an issue for a while, but even that get some slack because you had have some skill with the Photoshop software. If the art community doesn’t finally fight for a distinction then it will fade away as mostly a relevant now that it’s so easy for anybody to create high quality, conceptual images in any style that pleases them.

@WhateverWorks i have no issue with digital art, just with people pretending it is real and the gullibilty of those who believe them.

@BabyLonia I can see people praising images people made in AI, but find the creator pretending it was a real photo they took very odd 🤔🤭
