What is right from wrong?

If you ever want to know if you’re in the right or not. If you’ve ever had the conflict of conscience giving you no certain path. Ask yourself this: “Does this make you feel good?” If the answer is yes, then you’re doing the right thing.

*BIG DISCLAIMER*

No. I’m not saying it makes you feel good now and then you feel bad about it later. I’m saying you can look back on this at any point in your future and feel good about it. No, I’m not talking about fooling yourself into thinking you feel good when you honest to God don’t. I mean this. YOU FEEL GOOD! In every single way imaginable for the rest of your life. No matter the consequences. If you’ve never made a choice like that then it’s time you start listening to yourself because no one knows how to make those choices better than you.

Im glad you added the disclaimer....i was jist about to go into rant mode 😂

But i do kinda agree with @Spoiledbrat - some dont feel bad about being cruel or insensitive or making others feel bad.

In fact....some get off on it - like its some kind of competition or game they have to 'win' at.

Some even 'rewrite' the story in their heads to justify their awful actions.

I do truly believe that there are people that live life from different spiritual levels.
So for someone from a very low level ....this world is a playgound of easy lies, stealing, cruelty. To them ....its not bad - its a type of 'sucess' to them .

But for the average person, wjat you mention, is important. Its those questions amd reflections that give us a chance to raise ourselves up.

Which thr world desperately needs .

@OogieBoogie Yes Boogie! You are 100% correct, but let me ask you something. Would these same people be happy if they couldn’t have their way?
@Reject no. no I dont think they would be🤔

I think they need it. ...like air.

Edit - hang on ... which ones are we tslkng about?
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie We are talking about the cruel ones you described.
@Reject ah...good....thats the ones i responded about . 👍
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie *nods vigorously* So now then Boogie. Would you say that these people are happy about the possibility of not having their way?
@Reject nope. Definitely not .

( I feel you are about to lead me on some mental pro/con tbingy here 😏

Lead away maestro .......🤗

@OogieBoogie Right. Here I go! So then what makes you think they feel good in life or with their choices? It because they got their thrills? Is it because they think they got away with it? Boogie, these things don’t make someone feel good. They make them feel… justified. I’ll go with that word. That is in no small way, the most dangerous feeling you’ll ever have because it gives you the impression of a good feeling, with absolutely none of the reward.
@Reject i agree.
But if they know no better, if theyre not wired or geared to even understand that being kind is a kind of high in itself ....how will they ever know there is something better?

Imagine trying to tell a life long vegan, how good cheddar is?
They wouldn't even accept the potential for it: squeeze juice outtta a cow amd then ferment it ?
Are you kidding?
Sounds disgusting!

or....telling a life long slob, how good afeeling you can get from exercise.
They'd try it.... and then say "no ya dont - its awful" , coz they arent in a place where they can get enjoyment from it .

Does this make sense ?

You can show a blind man a sunset, but he wont see it 🤷‍♀️

@OogieBoogie The commonality here is the bad feeling which never lies no matter what kind of perspective you have. Vegan, slob, or blind. All can feel bad. If you feel bad about something, that’s your hearts subtle way of saying that you’re messing up. The worst thing you can then do is justify whatever part you played in bringing those feelings because then you’ll never get rid of them.
@Reject ummmm🤔

Maybe they weren't good analogies.

What im trying to say is....its where the inner ethical bar is set.

If one is in a life experience where it has always been low:
conditioned to feel that that selfishness is 'good', and never experienced the high from altriism or compassion ..... and has neen convinced these things are weaknesses and undesireable.......

....then why would they even think about trying?
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie One doesn’t need to feel that high to know there’s something wrong. You don’t need to experience compassion, empathy, or any of that in order to feel bad. Feeling bad happens to anyone who isn’t doing what’s good for them. They would think about trying something new simply because they’ve always felt bad. Unless of course they justified it somehow.
@Reject No, i dont think it does.

People can and do, stop feeling bad by living in denial.

People do it here...one conflict amd they block.

We have a whole generation learning that this is tje way to deal with anything they dont like.

And yes, justification.
They justify how they are, because acknowledging any other potentialities would devistate their whole foundation of their approach to life.

It would mean they would have to question their whole life values
Itd be like telling a Christian that there is no god.

@OogieBoogie Denying your feelings doesn’t magically make them go away. They stay and permeate into other aspects of your life negatively affecting you in ways you don’t even realize. Acting on fear is not a good feeling.

@OogieBoogie Miscontent. Angst. Sarcasm. Fear. Your words and none of these things make people feel good. So your argument that they do is very strange.
@Reject my argument is - is that they know no better.

Its what I've been trying to get across with my analogies and such .

That and 'what makes people feel good' is driven by different things .

Some actually get a high from being mean and controlling others - its what makes them feel good.

Saddists are a typical example🤷‍♀️
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie None of the people you’ve described would feel good not having their way and furthermore none of the people you’ve described acted on good feelings. They all acted on negative ones. Because of negative ones. Yet for some reason. You think that means they feel good. Maybe in the same way eating junk food feels good, but none of those people actually feel good. They’re trying to escape because they truly don’t.
@Reject and what im trying to explain is -.they dont know what true 'goodness' is .

Ego isnt the same as heart or spirituality.
'good' doesnt have the the same ethics when applied to ego

What is 'good' to a saddist , isn't the same as wjat is 'good' to an empath.
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie You really don’t need to know “true goodness” to feel bad. Does someone need to feel love before they hate being abused? No. Pain is very instinctual. It’s innate and built in. There’s plenty of serial killers who feel no love for anything, they have no concept of it, yet they couldn’t stand being mistreated by people.
@Reject you are agsin assuming everyone processes feelings like you do .

They dont .

Psychopaths, narcissists etc, derive pleasure and a sense of 'good' from very different things.

Amd I never said you need to feel true goodness to know what bad is , im saying that not knowing what enlightened goodness is, deprives people of the full barometer of perspective to wjat goodness can be .

Pain isnt always instincual. Pain can be conditioned to mean pleasure. Pain can be 'translated' to into its opposite.
Pain can become a release, or a sanctuary.
Pain csn be where people hide from the vulnerability of love and kindness.

Again ....not everyone processes these things like you do .
Sp you cant use your logic to define their reasoning
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie People can have a million different perspectives on what a good feeling is. Thats irrelevant because I’m not talking about all the versions which don’t last. They don’t know what it means to feel truly good about a choice and maybe they never will, but that doesn’t the fact that they don’t.

@OogieBoogie They don’t have to be anywhere near death to feel their desperate need to always have more. It’s far from comfortable. It’s an obsession. A craving they can’t solve. Nothing about that starvation feels good.
@Reject ....no it doesnt .
But that's where the conditioned denial and transposition of feelings comes in.

And for some ....ues ot does require some life threatening event to open them up to potentiality.

Plus 'more' is also relative. More of what? Good feeling?

Well that just brings us full circle 🤷‍♀️
Reject · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie What do I mean by more? They struggle with a lack of meaning in their lives. That’s why they find anything they can to fill the void. They might mistaken that for feeling good like you have, but it couldn’t be further from it. Their desire to take is evidence enough of that. It’s always those who take which have the least.
