The Triad of Interests, with some notes

Here is an exercise i devise at this moment to give an overview and compilation of the three main avenues i love.

Music

Pop

It all began with the 80's scene, Prince, Cyndi Lauper and Madonna being the pop trinity, then when i was in high school i reached back to the 60's and 70's for The Doors and Pink Floyd respectively. With Tori Amos and the grunge scene, and a little bit of Industrial with NIN and Marilyn Manson. After my botched school experience i discovered Enya, Sarah Brightman and Bjork, and then with the internet a whole cornucopia of goodies.

Classical

Beethoven and the Baroque, and then Minimalism are the preeminent strains.

Audio/Visual

Film

In 2005, a collection was born, the auteur theory which held the director as the author of the film, i gravitated to the non-english classic golden age arthouse, but i placed the American Avant-garde of the 60's primarily above, but in substance it was Europe and Asia that ruled the day.

Television

Sadly most of what i could collect was made in North America and Britain, other TV works from other countries are in the above category, as they're auteur driven. TV shows sounded the death knell for my film devotion, it didn't happen all at once but in stages, like tooth decay.

Literature

Books are the final frontier, the largest reservoir of material lies here, demanding the most time, and is immeasurably more rewarding, here is a mini chronology

Baudelaire came before Nietzsche, but the latter was in the limelight, Emily Dickinson was a connection to a romanticized nature mindset.

Christianity owing to it's closeness and it heritage status for me led me to embrace the part of Protestantism that initially distinguished itself from Catholicism, in the now, a more inclusive program is set down for the near future.

Taoism was a brief chapter before my film collecting, which i hope to get back to in the grand synthesis of all things.

Philosophy, the isms, of antiquity and later, culminating in the cynical pessimism of a Romanian who went and lived in France.

Entertainment - thrillers, horror, genre stuff in general, for fun reading.

Feminism - this is to be gotten back to at a later date, it is for me devastating to factor in, but all the more important.

High minded works, modernist, post-modernist and so on, with also an emphasis on long and difficulty levels.

Religion besides Christianity begins in my program with Hinduism, which is the current focus, that will branch out to Buddhism, Epics from across the world, and so on. Jiddu Krishnamurti who i didn't mention above, was briefly in the mix during the Taoist phase, and as with that shall make a return soon.

in the future

The Ancients

Proust

Jung - who will incorporate the teachings and ideas in the Eastern things namely to deep psychological depth.

Reich - who will give a unique and controversial voice to things, it was a Makavejev film partially about him that has always made this an item on the to do or get list.

and basically any author that looks highly interesting and collectable.

The rest is in the reading, learning and living.
