@NerdyPotato To be fair that’s a problem for the both the left and right. Whether it’s a rainbow flag or a confederate flag, they both stand for something one group or another fund abhorrent.

There’s just no middle ground in America, no ability to compromise. And thats why they’re on tv burning cars or storming government buildings every few years. It’s a nation of extremists.

No buddy... no, that's only because where you come from your white ingroup plays ignorant. But the black people that walk into the line dancing class, won't be.

I'm living in 2025...
No one in my country flies the flag of the Congo Free State (which BTW, didn't belong to Belgium at the time.
Neither does anyone fly the flag of Colonial Congo.
Neither do people in my country fly the flag of: REX, Verdinaso, VNV, De Vlag, ... unless those people belong to the fringe right that the majority still frowns upon.

Unlike your example, where people in 2025 are protecting the destruction of confederate statues, casually flying the confederate flag as if it's meaningless and voting for a guy that is openly xenophobic and wants to reinstate confederate names for American militairy basis.

So yeah... If you want to bring up the Belgian past... the overall majority of our country matured in the last 100 years... The American south hasn't.
