Nearly 6 n half thousand people following this group.....

Yet barely any stories/posts. It's no wonder we are all lonely is it lol. I'm going through a bit of a tuff time right now and it's highlighted to me how few people in my life actually give a crap about me. I like to think I'm a strong person but sometimes it's hard to maintain that isn't it. Not posting for sympathy or guidance but just thought I'd post to reassure those who lurk here it's sometimes good to talk ❤️

Sometimes, mental illness makes it difficult for the lonely to reach out and put words down about the reasons behind their loneliness.

@HootyTheNightOwl totally agree it does. Life is hard but so much harder when you are on your own or feel like you are xx
@woodyemma2013 At the same time, though... sometimes, we are lonely because we pushed everyone away to protect them from our internal stuff.

@HootyTheNightOwl I'm sure that's true in many cases. Recent events in my own life have pushed me to the edge and it takes alot to crack me because I'm so used to keeping it all locked away anyway. I opened up to people who I consider my closest people and whilst they were initially supportive this faded away really quickly. It's a good job I'm not the sort of person to harm myself but totally can understand what drives people to that point.
@woodyemma2013 I've just about given up on getting some ears myself... I know that there's not a lot that others can do to help me - but sometimes, it's a huge help when they just acknowledge that they heard me.

It's not like I'm listened to in real life.

@HootyTheNightOwl maybe that's my downfall I listen, support, help anyone I can really but I rarely get anything back
@woodyemma2013 Possibly... some people can find it hard to believe that strong people still need support themselves sometimes.
