Its just a reflex. People see someone struggling & they want to help. Even if they have nothing to offer.

I know. I did that for years when I was younger. It made no difference. I wasn't lonely for groups of people engaging in small talk, I was lonely for a special relationship of connection and intimacy...someone who really cares for you...not just going through the motions of being sociable. I still hear it now. They don't understand.

You need to do more then hearing stuff from people ;)

umm did you read the bottom where I said putting it to practice only to have it lead to shame...yeah I did more than just hear it.

@Itsprincess: yes and in I would like to have friends go to the movies with people my age and do cool stuff with that I can make memories with while I'm still young. but I also don't have a girlfriend if you wish to focus on that lol

Ahh okay. I don't know how to help sorry. All I know is that I was in the same position and I just reached out to people and started making an effort. I put my phone down when i was out, stopped myself from making that natural restless bitch face lol and made a couple friends and I met an online girl who's now my friend in real life. I didn't mean it in that way lol
