I Am Lonely

The isolation is starting to get to me. It was lonely enough in winter, but at least I had people, schoolchildren, traffic, and the hustle and bustle of daily life going on outside my window, and the hope of spring, and getting out again. Now the schools are closed, there are two just down the road from me, and there is no activity going on. The street is quiet, like a Sunday, and whenever I turn on the news, I feel like I’m in an early episode of “the walking dead.” I know my anxiety is increasing on several levels, not least of all one of my kids is in Europe, and the numbers of infected are increasing.
We are all in this together, but I feel sorry for those who are alone, or alone and elderly. That has to be awful. Soul destroying, even.
The worst part is not sleeping, and my sleep cycle is all messed up. I have to try and fix this because lack of sleep makes everything seem worse.

No, but I think it will last for this year, or until we have the vaccine. As the weather warms up, I’ll walk and ride my bicycle to get me out. @SweetMae

@Carissimi That is what I plan to do too.

I think in warmer weather, and being in nature will help with the isolation. I hope so. There are still birds singing, and geese honking, and the lapping of the lake. The sun will shine, and the sky will be blue again. Things to look forward to. @SweetMae 🤗
