I Am Lonely
I have GOT to quit drinking! I would never consider myself an alcoholic, at least not in the traditional sense. I don't drink every day, and when I DO drink, I don't get wasted...
I have heard that most alcoholics drink because they are lonely.
I too, drink because I feel lonely, only difference is, I don't feel lonely when I am by myself. When I am surrounded by a bunch of people, THAT is when I feel most alone. It might not make sense to you, it doesn't really make complete sense to me...
The only time I ever feel right is with one other person. It doesn't matter who it is, or when, what we are doing or where we are doing it... I just need that deep, one-on-one connection with another human being. When this connection is missing, alcohol calms that need and makes superficial tolerable.
But, when the intoxication subsides, I am left feeling even more confused and my desire for a connection intensifies, often increasing the next day by ten-fold!
