Seeing all the reels from the WC of people partying together, dancing, sharing their cultures and learning from each other is healing something in me

It's easy to get lost in a all or nothing mindset about the world and other countries, taking sides and being put against each other, and it's also easy to forget that a lot of what we see on the news is propaganda and meant to divide us - that the "1%" is the actual problem, while most of us actually get along just fine..

I had to take some time away from my dms on insta (and now I have people asking if I'm ignoring them, which gives me more stress lol), cause I get so many messages there and a lot of them are devastating or hateful (without meaning to be - but people are rightfully angry and expressing that in some of the groups I'm in). I wanna be able to stand up for what I believe in, without loosing all faith in humanity, and because I'm an empath - to the extreme - I need to make sure that I'm not allowing others anger to cloud my own judgement by constantly allowing it to enter my 'safe space'..

As an example, I went to a solidarity concert with my husband. We met a woman there and she asked where he's from, he said the US, and she said "What is that? that don't exist", which made me boil, cause first of all don't talk to my husband like that, second of all watch your mouth, third of all you can't claim solidarity on one side and then try to "delete" a country and basically deny someone their nationality because you don't like their leader, on the other side.. Even if she said it as a joke, it hit me the wrong way but I kept my mouth shut, smirked and got away from her before she made another comment. The US has their own battles, and as a Mexican-American he has even more, so I don't take that sh*t lightly..

So even tho I was skeptical about the WC being in the US, I must admit I'm happy it is just cause of how healing it feels to see people get along and finally hearing some positive news from there - even tho there's still been some negatives, but at least most of it is related to the government - not the people.

Also seeing Scottish fan take over Boston and put cones on every statute, and Norwegian fans take over Times Square and hype up the women doing yoga made my day 😂 I just love seeing people happy and passionate (in a good way) 😫

The least zen yoga session ever - but I bet they all left feeling happy at least 🥹
