The fix of American capitalism

Where those in power with the most money limit innovation with violence death intimidation and actively distracting from innovation progress cannot be made if cures are found new tech developed or easier ways discovered only for the innovators (usually the next generation) only to be killed/silenced in the name of maintaining those already established's control. Therefore limits must be set on long standing capitalists or the aristocracy will continue to dominate the allegedly "free" market. So I support local small and new enterprise and capital. Overthrow the old build up the new! Happy spring!!

Monopolies and centralisation of power within the capitalist class is how capitalism works and if the market would be completly free this would only get worse. If we were to overthrow the capitalist class and keep capitalism another Bourgeoisie would form itself and we are in the same position.
Radical wealth redistribution in form of infrastructure, healthcare, ... is the only way to go. Preventing individuals from accumulating huge amounts of wealth by simply owning capital.

@Gloomy indeed lol
@SW-User capitalism and toxic individualism are facets of the US system, not facts of life.

@Roundandroundwego disagree. Most people's first priority is themselves and their own. They have varying degrees of awareness and empathy for other people and a personal interest in maintaining the status quo for their own safety and equilibrium, but that's the extent of it

no....that's not the answer. capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any other system by far. It's time to move on to something better, but not just by tossing it out without a tested replacement.

@Roundandroundwego I think if it were managed better it could still be of value. My issue is that in the 21st century world, there needs to be more balance of life needs among the population. I have far less of an issue with income disparity than with people not having basic needs met...like health care, food, etc. A lot of those types of things could be fixed without getting rid of capitalism....
@originnone that's socialism, social democracy when people manage capitalism to be less cruel. Didn't the US Congress just vote that this is wrong?
originnone · 61-69, M
@Roundandroundwego not necessarily. Mortimer Zuckerman, of all people, support a minimum base income as do some other conservatives. Things like that can be done under the umbrella of capitalism....as an example, the Chinese started doing things that worked economically and just called it communism....

@SW-User it's more fun my way to be fair
Socialism is wrong. Congress voted to just not be a country that cares for its people. Americans don't know any better. They deserve it.
exchrist · 31-35
Should the suggested limit of centralized power be 7 generations?
exchrist · 31-35
Just ranting really
val70 · 51-55
Yep, just like TR did; killing off monopolies and saving capitalism
