I Want You to Write a Letter to Your Future Self

I want you to give yourself a pat on the back for all of the accomplishments you have made thus far. You attended school full-time AND worked full-time throughout your college career. It wasn't easy being gone for 14 hours at a time and still managing to make time for homework, projects, self, friends, dating--but you did.

When you left the first uni, you had no idea how much of a struggle it would be to start over without any friends, money or family support, but that didn't stop you. You showed those motherfucxers who's boss while still making the dean's list!

No, it was not the easiest journey maintaining college, work and a relationship. Yes, you were abused; Yes, you were over-worked; Yes, you were not appreciated; Yes, you had a change in life; Yes, depression and anxiety haunted you; Yes, you made it.

People thought you were crazy to quit a secure job (without knowing all of the facts) because you wanted more. That is when you knew that the only opinion that matters in your life, is your own. You learned and you conquered. Here it is, you're employed at the job that wanted you as much as you wanted it. You're making a difference in individual's lives everyday, without a doubt. You were not crazy to want to be somewhere where you are valued, respected and appreciated.

He may have taken your home from under you when you were younger, but you are a grown woman who proved to him--and everyone else who doubted you--that you are capable to stand firmly on your own two feet. You have your own home and only concern yourself with taking care of those who matter, starting with yourself. You are shamelessly independent, and dammit I'm so proud of you. You have shown women what capability coupled with humility can do. It can turn even the darkest child into a diligent, courageous woman.

You have purpose. You have value. You have passion.
