I think, if you identify as something other than a person you should have to reapply for citizenship as that thing.

They lose their citizenship. So... what happens do them?

@CountScrofula well if you decide in your 30s that you now identify as a cat and get walked around in public on a leash, should you not get registered as a cat? Do cats drive cars and vote? Do you let your cat make big decisions that effect the economy for everyone else?
