Honesty is a virtuous pursuit.
Too often people don't seem to bother to aspire to good and virtuous behaviour. I think it's what causes the social problems we experience and the failures in society!

I think the issues we experience in society are too complex and deep to be boiled down to the "virtous" behavior of individuals. It isn't that I don't think it's not important to to be "good", it just seems like an oversimplified response to the issues in the world.
