Yesterday I signed the lease for my new apartment & got the keys
My dad & I moved everything I own last night into my new place. I'm happy that my home isn't empty 😭 I was low key worried it wouldn't look like a home but it does already 🥹 & it's bigger than the last apartment I had with Naya's mom. I like it better already.
I'm still organizing & unpacking things. I'm not in a rush though. I'm tired lol. I'm on the 3rd floor so it was exhausting moving everything up 3 flights of stairs. I spent $300 on groceries & necessities then spent another $400 ordering a bunch more stuff that I forgot on the first round 😅 all that's showing up right now actually. I've never got so many groceries on my own. I mean I would pay for stuff often when my kids mom shopped or when I shopped, I would grab random food & necessities but I guess I'd never walked around a store aimlessly & packed a full cart. That was new to me too & I didn't even realize it until after.
My dad & stepmom said they're proud of me 🥲 I feel proud too. Before I had a kid I used to think I couldn't afford to get a place on my own. Plus work wasn't always a guarantee so I'd worry that if I lost a job or something changed, I would be screwed. But I have job security now so I know I'm okay. & Obviously I had apartments with Naya's mom for years but this is my first time doing this all on my own. It's a different feeling sitting in YOUR own place, looking at all YOUR stuff like "I did it 🥹" I knew the excitement wasn't gonna hit me until after I fully moved in. Which is partially why I haven't said anything about it or got my hopes up. Plus I like it better when I don't have to tell people what I'm accomplishing. It feels cooler to just accomplish shit & be like "yeah I did something"
Naya is playing with her toy kitchen right now. She's pretending to make eggs & she's sharing with me. She's so excited to see some of her toys that have been packed away for a few months, like her kitchen or her little unicorn that she rides on. She didn't even wanna go to sleep last night because she was too excited about her toys 😂 I woke up & saw a bunch of them already organized & set up but Naya was still asleep next to me. So apparently she woke up, played, then laid back down 🤣 she's so playful these days it's the best. She'll hand me her toys or share stuff with me so I can join her so we're always playing now. She loves hide & seek. One day she saw me hiding from her & she said "oh hide seek?" so she ran off to start counting then came looking for me like she didn't know where I was 😂 I was like where did you learn that? She even says the "ready a not here come" part with her lil baby voice. She's not a good hider though lol but I pretend I don't see her anyway. Sometimes we're driving cars & sometimes I'm "dada obot" or "dada zombie" ("obot" is robot without the R because that's how she says it 😂). But today she found her princess tiara, put it on my head, & busted out laughing calling me "dada pincess" 🤣🤣 I had to laugh too though that was hilarious
