A few years ago vs. now

After quitting alcohol a year & a half ago & then going to jail for a few months, I lost weight. I wasn't fat but I got used being a tad bit chunkier than my younger self. People would point it out sometimes & I got kinda self conscious about it. I was embarrassed about my shape & I didn't like what I saw when I looked in the mirror. Not that it was really bad or anything... It's just not the way I was used to seeing myself.

Anyway, here's me from a few years ago, not long before my daughter was born. I was even flexing my core so I didn't look as chunky.

& These next pics are from now. I honestly don't like how skinny I look & even though I like that I lost fat, I don't like that I lost weight. So I've been seriously thinking of getting a gym membership just to be more fit. Put some more weight back on but the good kind. I wouldn't aim to be like a "gym bro" or a body builder or anything but I figure if I could get in this much better shape from simply making a few healthier choices.. maybe working out might go a long way too 🤷

Honestly despite the hard stuff in my life right now, I feel positive & determined. It's only a bonus that I'm also slowly becoming more proud of what I see in the mirror because that's a first in a pretty long time

@foldedunfolding protein.. makes sense. I honestly still don't pay much mind to what I eat so maybe I should start doing that too.
But daaaamn that's a lot of crunches 👀 I used to do 150 to 300 every other day & I thought that was a lot 😂

But damn 5lbs in a week is awesome. Keep up the good work because you're definitely right, it's the baby steps that amount to the distance in the long run
