Something happened w/my upstairs neighbor years ago and we ended up with a bubble that covered about 60% of the ceiling. it got bigger and bigger until it burst everywhere. What a disaster. Upstairs in condos around 10 to have a lot of issues like that. I don’t know if it’s just all condos everywhere.
I hope your stuff isn’t getting damaged.

@MellyMel22 damn that sounds like a big bubble 😶 I would've been worrying about that as soon as it developed 😅 I remember at my dad's there was a leak in the attic that we never knew about. Apparently the last owners put a bucket under it & left it alone. So years later when that bucket filled up, it started overflowing then one morning it just fell through the ceiling like BOOM

@ChiefJustWalks I sooo was worrying about that. But my kids’ dad said that we couldn’t touch it so new don’t get blamed for making it worse. If it ever pops up on a fb memory, I’ll share it. I know I posted it, but I don’t think I did when it got bigger.
Omg, that’s craZy and not the part I reacted to!

I had this happen to me years ago. To save certain rooms. We grabbed blankets, towls, and blocked the water by putting them in the middle of the doorframe and stacked them so it wouldnt go into the next room.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@ScarletWitch we tried that at first but there was so much water coming from every part of the house. Every room & corner. There was no stopping it
Reject · 31-35, M
At least it’s not your property so you don't have to pay out of your pocket.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Reject but it's costing us money regardless with missing work today, having to buy shit to clean up, throwing away so much of our stuff that's ruined..
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
That's terrible. Your neighbor should have just called someone to fix it.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SatanBurger yeah he should've. Looks like he just moved in because his apartment was still empty
They better get you guys a hotel room if it's bad.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Nadie they didn't. I doubt they even would've. They better at least cut down our rent this month though
@ChiefJustWalks they left you with an uninhabitable apartment; they owe you something.

I hope there isn’t any damage to your personal belongings
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Jenny1234 there is

Is there no main shut off?
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Degbeme there is but its the water shut off for the whole building so only maintenance has access to that. They're not here yet

@ChiefJustWalks how did things end up resolving?
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Starcrossed we left last night & stayed at my dad's. We're about to go home right now to assess the damage & start cleaning. I'll update again soon

I am sorry. Do you have renter’s insurance in case any of your stuff gets damaged?
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@iamonfire696 our apartment told us we didn't need renters insurance because of some $15 a month payment we've been making. Idk the details but I'ma try to figure it out today
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@ChiefJustWalks I am glad you have it
