Russian people are not very socially welcoming imho

By which I mean, the typical European pleasantries of a smile or an acknowledgement to other people seem to be missing in the Russian culture 🤗 There are a lot of Russians at this resort and yeah, you'd get more warmth from a corpse 💀

I’ve heard that, but I must add I found it to be kinda cold in Europe compared to my country, my mother said the same after traveling to Russia.

They're a fierce people, imo, and i've chatted for almost a whole week to one, a very kind person. When artistic, I feel they're the passionate equivalent to other locations of the globe.

Theres a Russian proverb that goes..
" Smiling without a reason is a sign of stupidity"

In English speaking world, ones that smile at you the most are the ones that gonna be talking $hit behind your back the most...it's not a sign of friendliness really..just usually passive aggressive polite two face'ness.

@BluntSm0ker I thought it was the rule of every big city that if a stranger smiles at you they want your attention and that's most likely because they want to sell you something or make you sign some petition. Or simply make you focused on them while their companion will pickpocket you.

Don’t like to generalize but having traveled to Russia, I will say it’s a tough crowd. Maybe their culture and life experiences have made that somewhat necessary.

Like someone mentioned here already, it's not just Russians, Northern, Central & Eastern Europeans are all like that,
the smiley culture comes from the English speaking world I personally find it fake most of the time.
