I want a grey squirrel as a pet

Except you aren't allowed to keep them as pets in the UK because they're are classed as vermin and an invasive species, largely due to their effect on the native red squirrel population. Grey squirrels carry squirrel pox which kills red squirrels.

I haven't seen a red squirrel since I was a kid, but there are loads of grey ones. So I get the point but here's my issue. They're cute and I want one 😒

Let's face it, if red squirrels can't endure squirrel pox then maybe they aren't meant to be 😤
