The UK will be imposing duty on vape liquids from October 2026
A 120ml shortfill vape liquid costing £9.99 at present will, in October, cost around £50.00. Some may say that this is good for public health and that's fine, maybe even hard to argue with. What gets me is, the advice for replacing smoking or vaping includes mindfulness. Exercise and mindfulness. Now personally, if you suggest that mindfulness should be part of my vaping replacement strategy I would probably wish that you die in a helicopter crash. I smoked from the age of 14. I switched from smoking to vaping when the cigarettes started to affect my acid reflux a lot more. I've been through more than one addiction and a long ass time of nicotine products being the only reliable support mechanism. I'm not considering mindfulness when vaping becomes economically unviable, I'm considering other drugs. That's the truth of it. The government can mindfully f*ck off 😒 I don't know what it's like to just have to do life without a drug. I'm not sure I'm interested enough to try.
