Hurricane Melissa

Jamaica looks like it's going to have some major damage when this hurricane lands. It's now overtaken hurricane Katrina in intensity and has already become the 7th most intense Atlantic hurricane on record.

I wouldn't want to be there right now.

Also, it was so bizarre to watch it on the forecast map during its formative period, just remaining statiorary for days, before we could finally see that eastward movement toward Bermuda would finally be a path of actual forward motion ... but this tendency is disturbingly becoming more common as well ... staying stalled in one place over warm water no doubt has not helped with the intensification :(
