No, this is intelligent. If you can understand the workings of your own body and your illness, you should, as long as you're using credible sources.
Just don't get too paranoid ans stay grounded with the actual data and science.
It annoys me when people don't care about themselves and just expect me to only deal with the consequences.

After I get their diagnosis I like to ask doctors if I will be able to play the piano. They think it over and say yes. I say, "That's great because I never could before."

I used the word 'conical' to describe my wisdom teeth roots to my GP and she asked me what it meant. When I told her, she said, Oh, yeah... pfft. It discombobulates them if you use scientific terms they already know the definition. Just say 'singular and shaped like an ice cream cone' 😌

You can be annoying if you behave like Dr. House. You're good if you're knowledgeable and polite.
@mindstruggle You think I'm annoying full stop 😒

My husband is like this. For me, he never gets sick lol
@SwampFlower I think it's because when you get sick and you can't seem to get well, or even get a diagnosis at first, you look for answers and you just kind of go down a rabbit hole. Then it becomes habit forming because knowledge gives a sense of control.
