Wild Swans with their floofy babies

🤍

Nearby, we have a permanent resident pair that have been around for many years. They do not leave to over winter elsewhere. Every year mom builds her nest in the same spot, visable by the narrow roadway that splits this wetland just down from the river.
Two years ago they had three cygnets. After a couple of weeks the young vanished. Im not certain if it was human or animal predators but the pair were openly depressed.
Last year a single offspring. It grew and left.

But this year! We watched mama sitting. And sitting. We were worried they may have gotten to old. The ducklings were hatched. The goslings. No swans.
And then, they they were. Tiny. And five! All good.
I will take a snap and share it here. Likely tomorrow.

It's rare to see Swans in this area, but sometimes we do...Wherever you are is lovely. The Swans look like they're flourishing in that habitat, it's no wonder they had their goslings there! Beautiful all around!
☺️… they were adorable , the daddy swan was so protective of them all too. Amazing to see them all here too 🥹🤍@saintsong
