Maintaining a coffee machine is pain in.the ass. It always wants something: a new filter, empty this cartrige, fill this cartridge, remove the limescale, unclog these pipes... And then when you think you've got it all, coffee tastes like shit so you look into it and find out there are coffee residues that caught mold and that's why.
Even if everything is right, the coffee needs to be ground the right way, water needs to be heated the right way.
Way too much work for one small cup.

@CrazyMusicLover. Clean fresh one cup pour over is so much easier, tastier and neurotic free 😅

Are you used instant coffee instead of ground coffee? The taste is different.
Younameit · F
It never tastes like the ones from the coffee shop lol
CountScrofula · 46-50, M
@Younameit I, the chad, just spend [redacted] of dollars on espresso equipment and I can bring the coffee shop home!

Do you make it by the cup or pot? They have cheap k-cup makers out there.
Best cup is a pour over 👍. And good cream or soy milk 🙌
SirLirkALot · 46-50, M
you can't just mix the grounds with water unless it's instant coffee yw ☕

Maybe it's the brand? I like Counter Culture, it's smooth and delicious

I drown it in milk and hazelnut syrup
But I still wonder what I'm doing wrong lol

What if coffee is just nasty tasting in general? You’re doing all you can
CountScrofula · 46-50, M
@Selah Oh honey we can fix that. Buy a french press. They're like ten bucks.
Then get a pre-ground medium roast coffee from the grocery store. Whatever looks like its trying to impress you.
Put the kettle on. You want the water just off the boil.
For 16 oz coffee, use that much water and 5 tablespoons coffee. Steep for four minutes and plunge.
It's simple and you will have made yourself a treat with Great Care before work.

@CountScrofula I'm actually going to try this
CountScrofula · 46-50, M
@Selah YAY. Four level tablespoons not five I fucked that up.
It should weigh 30 grams coffee to 500 grams water. If you happen to have a scale in metric for baking and doing drugs.

@CountScrofula I'm too embarrassed to say. The guy in the other comments told me to stop using instant
CountScrofula · 46-50, M
@Selah I don't judge!
And yes lmao my mom drinks instant coffee and accepts it just tastes vile. If you want nice coffee you gotta have a little ritual.

People should bring you coffee and if you don’t like it spit it on them
GoFish ·
maybe you are making it too dark/rich maybe others are skimpier on their coffee content?

Just buy this piece of shit on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D9QFRJMX?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1
It costs $20, the coffee is fine, and it only takes a few minutes to brew. Zero skill or effort involved really. You can do only 1 cup if you want. Drip coffee makers are overpowered, yo.
