I also don't get the promise empathy and I end up consoling them because they can't seem to talk about anybody but themselves.

@Justmeraeagain yeah. Theres alot of differnt kinds of people out there.

I see it as they won't talk WITH me (talking is communication - a 2-way street). On rare occasions a person may attempt to talk TO me, but it's usually brief small talk (and they expect it in return). Unfortunately, my brain is wired to see this as meaningless. Or they just want to dump their issues on me - as if I'm nothing more than a silent sounding board (of course I patiently listen) . I'd much prefer people who will talk WITH me - you know, meaningful communication. Yet, (alas) it seems that most people are incapable of this.

@shuhak I have to say that I get times where I don't want to talk and I do sometimes only answer in a few brief sentences.

@Justmeraeagain I completely understand. One time I was talking watches with a guy. Then he tells me he collects women's watches. I was thinking that's a little strange, but okay. Then he tells me he likes to take pictures of them on Mr Happy. When I wouldn't let him send me his portfolio he blocked me. I kind of viewed that as my gain. 😊
