Bragging about your kindness

I have a friend. He's kind and like to help each other. But after a while i noticed something about him, he likes to brag and talk about his kindness to people, it feels like he wanted to help people so he can brag about it. I honestly didn't feel comfortable around thid guy, and i don't want to receive anything from him because i know that if i ever get help from him he'll tell everyone about it, and i don't want that

That stops it from being true [b]kindness[/b]. I like the concept of a [b]mitzvah[/b], where you perform a kind act in secret, with no expectation of credit or acknowledgment. But someone with the ego of your friend would probably get no personal satisfaction from that.
