People have mentioned lint so that could be easy to rule out after you make sure it's clean. Does it die faster than it used to? It's common for phone batteries to start dying after a few years. Last time I bought a new $50 battery on Amazon that came with the mini tools to take your phone apart. I used a heat gun to help separate the adhesive around the edges, took it all apart, then put it back together with the new battery. Then months later my screen started going out too & I knew it'd be dumb to spend anymore money on a dying phone 😢
It might just be time to replace it, sadly. Phones aren't built to last long these days

@ChiefJustWalks yeah if cleaning doesn't work I'll take it in, see what they say. Thanks:)

Could be dust piled up in the plug-in where the charger goes. I had that problem with my phone not charging and used a toothpick to scrape out a whole bunch of dust that somehow got in there. Since then, my phone's been charging just fine.
You need a new man, I'm available 😏
It could be 1,000 different things...
Make sure you try different combos... different wall, different charger, different outlet, different NHL team... could just need to be cleaned out.
And see where the problem seems to be coming from, if it still seems to be your phone, then go try to ask them to clean it for you....
They'll probably say they can't or something, but keep calm, keep trying to get them to do something, act cute and pretty and they'll try something.
Note, they might try to sell you a new phone, even if you don't need one

Had the same problem. You need to find the message they previously sent about scheduling your phone update and update it.

Get a pin and clean the port out on the phone, I've gotten lint on mine before and that fixed it
Lilymoon · F
@come2gether I'll try that!

I had a similar issue with a Pixel 7a which was still under warranty. They said they couldn't repair it and replaced the phone.
Sevendays · M
I took mine to one of those fix your phone kiosks in the mall. They cleaned the charging port and charged me $5. It charged fine after that. Then I got an iPhone. 🤭

Can you try wireless charging?
When my battery was going, it acted like it charged super fast, but it also discharged super fast.

How old is it?
Average Lifespan:
Most smartphone batteries, including those in Android phones, are rated to last for 2-3 years.
Although my Samsung is 4 years old and no problem yet.

Like mentioned, check your charging port! It's probably full of pocket lint!
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Maybe the charging port is damaged. It's probably time to get a new one unless getting it fixed is cheaper
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Prettybratbi1tch lol one time I replaced my charging port & it worked.. only for the battery to die weeks later too 🙄

The same thing was happening to me. I changed the phone
JackHoff · 46-50, M
Clean out the charging port with a toothpick. Might have dust or lint in there.
Lilymoon · F
@DeletedAccount25 haha good idea
ElwoodBlues · M
@Lilymoon I would not poke metal stuff into the charging port; too easy to damage a few of the 24 fine metal contacts in there.

And, for future reference, carry it in your pocket or purse with charging port downwards; it'll collect less lint that way!

@ElwoodBlues ok.. thanks!
how old is the phone? most phones have built in batteries that aren't really user replacable. what does the charger port look like?
How old is it?
@Lilymoon battery shouldn't be an issue. Seems like a charging port issue or the charging IC.
Lilymoon · F
@Royricky09 yeah I might have to take it in
I'd suggest to clean the port first

Are sure you are using a high powered charger and USB cord?
FreeSpirit1 · F
New battery most likely
Kiesel · 56-60, M
In your phones settings, are you able to see the battery health status?
Yourwildestdreams · 51-55, M
Maybe you somehow got peanut butter and jam in the charging port 😌
Northwest · M
Your phone settings should give you the battery life indicator. Somewhere...
Northwest · M
@Lilymoon Navigate to "Settings" > "Battery" or "Battery & Device Care" (depending on your phone's manufacturer and Android version). Within this section, look for options like "Battery Health" or "Battery Information," which will display your battery's maximum capacity or a health percentage. Some phones also offer a hidden diagnostic menu accessible via a dial code (##4636##) that can provide battery status information.
Nebula · 41-45, F
Probably a new phone, most of the batteries aren't changeable anymore. On purpose of course
