What do you think of ambient noise vs. Silence?

Sometimes im used to an air compressor running in the background. Or heavy traffic going by. Kind of calming.
Or something like the hum of fan blades or water flowing. Crowds chattering in the background.

Maybe its the vibration or the action of a flowing environment representing active change.

Sometimes the quite is too quite for me. I think too much.

I used to be so used to chaos that the calm would mean somethings coming. I dont know if thats related.

I find in a loud environment that i have no attachment to, i talk out loud to myself sometimes.

Where I live in my personal residence, I had triple pane windows installed throughout with acoustic/solar glass, plus a sold-core oak entry door with a 3-point locking system.

Inside my home is found the epitome of 'silence', meaning there is NO noise coming from any source whatsoever including some cheap analog ticking clock hanging on the wall.

No clocks, no ticking, no disturbing of my peace in this environment that I created for myself. I can bond seamlessly with my creative self and not ever be disturbed by background noise and I've not been anywhere else that can compare, including a dense forest which always has some kind of rustling noise even on calm days..

Nobody lives in complete silence, there's always some noise in the background but I prefer the noise I am used to and can filter out. I'm so used to my clock ticking that I often forget about it when I record some sound, however if I'm somewhere else with a different clock ticking, I have to remove it from the room because I wouldn't be able to fall asleep.

Silence in the woods doesn't bother me. The difference is quite striking in middle of summer but then I get used to it. Now it feels natural.
I’ve used a white noise machine and fan in my bedroom since the last century. Looking to block out noise when I lived in an apartment with chucklehead neighbors who left their dogs out to bark all night. Got used to the ambient noise and all these years later have a hard time sleeping without it.

For me, it's the opposite... I am so use to calm that when chaos starts to happen in my life, it means that something very positive is coming my way.
