When was the last time you saw a vaccum salesman come to your door?

Top | New | Old
A vacuum salesman knocked on my door this morning. When I opened my door, before I could even talk to him, he dumped a bucket of dog shit on my carpet...

He then said “if this vacuum cleaner doesn’t clean your carpet within 2 minutes, I will personally eat whatever’s left of the shit

To which I replied “well you better be hungry because my electricity has been cut off since 5am”

My cousin was a salesman back in the day selling vacuum cleaners. 1980s.

Probably the time my mom bought her kirby vacuum cleaner.
You could develop some arm muscles pushing that thing around.

Must be an American tradition. I have never heard of, let alone seen, itinerant sellers of vacuum-cleaners or any other domestic-appliances in Britain. Even seeling only from a brochure.

Occasional peddlers of small goods, yes, but they seem to have disappeared.

We have had other, much more disreputable traders such as those "employed" in the 1970s by a company called Amway. It sold household cleansers but though there was nothing wrong with the goods the method was of "pyramid selling", essentially fraudulent, and it was outlawed.

Just that one time 31-35 years ago. She was kinda cute.

A long, long time ago but Joe Biden was so young then!

I have only ever seen that one time. I was just a kid so about 60 years ago.
