What is freedom to you?

I believe we are a product of our environment.

Some believe freedom is having a 9-5job and earning money to spend how you please

Some believe having the biggest army and being policed means freedom

Being in nature is free to some.

Maybe avoiding the sysytem for others.

Or becauae your politician propagates freedom

What is freedom to you and why do you believe that?

I'm actually going to challenge your basic question. What is freedom to you? Freedom isn't something that one person gets to define. Or maybe, it's better to say that, if one person has freedom, but their neighbor does not, then no one is truly free.

Freedom is when all people are free from restrictions imposed on them by other people, the government, religious institutions, etc. You freedom is as broad as possible as long as you aren't using your freedom to limit the freedom of another person. Or more classically stated: Your freedom ends at your fist as soon as it connects with my nose.

@RosaMarie well i think think its defined by perception. One could view freedom as being freed from slavery while another could say their free to own slaves.

One could say thier liberating a nation by forcing thier ideologies on them like a religion or type of government. While the other side views it as oppression.

If freedom is everyone is free of imposed restriction, would that mean anyone born in a governed nation is not free? Every nation has a set of rules and customs that every citizen must follow. But by restricting the freedoms that we deem unsavory protects others view of freedom.

So is our idea of freedom chosen by or governments and we just grow up believe those ideologies are ours?

Do our parents teach us what to value as freedom? We are a born a blank slate at taught the world.
