Quite a few people here do, I've noticed. Their posts as in their own comments and replies to people, along with the actual "posts" they submit. That, along with their various 'alt' accounts...sometimes
I do hope I've never done it by mistake, and not noticed and unhearted it.

JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Piper you cant unheart your posts too
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@JimboSaturn @Piper I keep learning new things about this place!!
Piper · 61-69, F
@JimboSaturn Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I know I've accidently clicked on a reaction to my own and other people's comments and replies on occasion, and changed or 'undid'...fixed it.
Pieter66 · 56-60, M
No, I don't. But I'm always happy when there are reactions on my posts or photos in my album.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Pieter66 Same 👍😊☺
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Yup if I don't heart my own posts I don't feel good about myself
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Prettybratbi1tch If it works for you then by all means. It’s your contribution and your choice. Thanks for sharing too. ☺😊
bijouxbroussard · F
Some people do, and I notice. I don’t, because I only heart to indicate that I read a post and liked it. Not necessary with my own posts. 😄
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@bijouxbroussard It’s always good to have a system ☺😊
NerdyPotato · M
Yep, I've seen some do that. 😅
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@NerdyPotato me too. It definitely exists.
Elessar · 26-30, M
My cousin. His own Instagram selfies 😮💨

@RunTheJulz It's worse, I think, it's vanity (from the perspective of the poster) and pre-selection bias (from the perspective of who accounts how many likes a potential partner's selfie has when matching): rather than "wasting time" in getting to know someone, you rely on how popular they're on socials. This gets normalized and people work towards boosting their "social score", creating a feedback loop
All those mass social media platforms do more harm than good. Back in the days I used to think this position was purely dictated by rejection of modernity/change, but in hindsight I was completely wrong.

RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@being That’s an off putting habit. I assume that you didn’t date much longer before you decided to “shoot the messenger” so to speak lol (dorky joke I know 🤪)
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Elessar
I didn’t think about it much until I started seeing a competitive an unhealthy trend in my friend group of people basically “sharing and shaming”. It started with stuff like buying their first house to sharing stuff that seemed to put other people down who had yet to reach a certain stage. Be that marriage or motherhood or how many children they felt like everyone else should have too. I think it’s important to understand that life’s not a competition and tearing people down shouldn’t be the goal of your online life. Anyway I know that it’s something that lots of people do but it’s the malicious intent that I believe is causing the most problems.

I fully agree!! I didn’t think about it much until I started seeing a competitive an unhealthy trend in my friend group of people basically “sharing and shaming”. JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
Nope
EndlessHorizon · 46-50, M
Haha, yeah, I will do that if my post gets no (or very few) likes. If a post deserves a heart, it’s gonna get one.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@EndlessHorizon Appreciate your honesty. I have so many posts with no response but i don’t mind. However the ones that have very little views bum me out sometimes. lol I don’t I’m just a weirdo lol 😊☺
I find that if I ❤my own posts, others will be curious, then they will read it, and then they will ❤ my post, and then so on and so on and before long my posts become so full of ❤s that the people of SW vote me to become their supreme leader.
At least that’s the plan 👻

RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Ghostinthemachine I have caught at least one or two instances where I have hearted my own words in some way and I often miss the intended emoji option when selecting it on other SWeoples posts and comments. I have always corrected my mistake as soon as I notice it. It was only when looking back at old posts and comments that I saw I had “hearted” something of my own creation. I have thought it’s a bit odd that the possibility exists at all. Why not just make it impossible for the post or comment writer to be able to “heart” their own words? Maybe that requires more code writing and it’s just easier to keep it all generic? Idk enough about how this plays works. Not exactly “technical support certified” lol ☺😊
@RunTheJulz I don’t think there is anyone better qualified or higher certified to lead SW in ❤s than you! 🙂
being · 36-40, F
I remember I went through a period where I was doing it 😂😂 I can't recall my whys though but there must have been a pretty lame reasoning 🙈lol
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@being Hmm maybe you were just in a heart ♥ giving mood. 🤔🤷🏼♀
BlueVeins · 22-25

rinkydinkydoink · M
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@rinkydinkydoinkWell thank you for saying that it’s a fun question. I think it’s the first time I’ve heard this about anything I’ve posted. Now I have to try and ask questions more often. ☺😊
JustEd · 41-45, M

RunTheJulz · 46-50, F

Lugwho · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard same, if I notice
Ceinwyn · 26-30, F
Ive seen people do it. Especially on politics post.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Ceinwyn I have seen it in arguments mostly. Political and otherwise.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
I don't do that. I'm too modest, lol.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@HowtoDestroyAngels lol 😝
I've seen people do that. I think they want to try to cascade with it. it seems weird and more than a little desperate to me.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@dirge strong agree 👍😊☺
Teslin · M
No, I have never.
fun4us2b · M
Sometimes by mistake...😊 so embarrassing....😅
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@fun4us2b it happens lol 😝
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
No. If I post something that no-one likes it's either because it was extremely lame and I need to up my game or because everyone else is too sad to understand it. It is my job to work out which is which. 🤔
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@FreddieUK I agree that I want the honest response from those who bother to read what I wrote. And it’s my job to make sure that it’s worth sharing. Hope you’re having a pleasant day today. ☺😊
WormMan · 56-60, M
no, not on purpose
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@WormMan Yes misfires do happen. Unfortunately. But understandable.
WormMan · 56-60, M
@RunTheJulz Yes they do!
pancakeslam · 46-50, M
I respond to my own posts and flirt with myself
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@pancakeslam that’s a very loose interpretation of pan-sexuality as I understand it. lol 😝
pancakeslam · 46-50, M
@RunTheJulz exactly. loose.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@pancakeslam Good one. lol 😂

Jexie · 26-30, F
No, I don't see the point in that
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Jexie Nor do I but lots of people say that they see it on here too. ☺🤭
Jexie · 26-30, F
@RunTheJulz Yeah, I guess they feel the need to self validate lol
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Jexie guess so but to each their own … ☺😊
IamBack · 31-35, M
A very desperate person would, I guess 🥲
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@IamBack I guess that’s definitely possible. But then all the VIP members could see… idk am I right?
IamBack · 31-35, M
@RunTheJulz I think so
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M

I never bothered, but right wing MAGA nutcases are almost for sure.
Lol……. it does happen. I always get a kick out of seeing people SWasturbate.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@OlderSometimesWiser SWeople on here do SWasterbate a lot. I shall give you credit for that word whenever I use it. 🙃
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
it's actually crazy
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@MartinTheFirst I think I have to agree with you on that one. I just found it an interesting question because I have seen evidence of this in the past although not that I can recall specifically. And I’m not 100% sure. But I’m over 96% lol
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RunTheJulz I think zonus is one of the people that do it every time without failure
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@MartinTheFirst 🔥burned🔥 😆
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
I wasn’t aware people did that
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Moneyonmymind Well it’s sometimes accidental and sometimes intentional according to the people who have answered my question. Either way it’s your choice ☺😊
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Fat-fingered and inattentive ones. 😆
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@CrazyMusicLover Longer nails have caused inaccuracies in my own posts and replies. ☺😊
Madmonk · M
No. People once did but they disappeared up their own ass. Since then we’ve heeded the warning
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Madmonk Well behaved ☺😊
Lilnonames · F
yes it makes it be seen quicker and if you comment it goes through algorithm faster
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@Lilnonames I actually never knew that. I’ve learned so much from this silly question that I wasn’t even sure I should post lol thanks for sharing btw. ☺😊
