Sadly,yes it is - to a greater or lesser extent.You mention World War 1 - the world had generally been fairly peaceful for about 40 years before 1914 and the outbreak of the then-greatest war in history.My parents lived through World War 2 - though my father almost did not make it - and I grew up in the years of uneasy "peace" that followed.

@craig7 iv heard weve only ever had 250 years of peace. 200 years with the roman empire, and roughly 50 years after WW2. every other time there has been a major conflict somewhere in the world.

this is how life (in general) works on earth, yes: the strong eat the weak
