Curious as to how muting someone works

I have one person muted. Have not seen a post for a month.
Then a post shows on my feed, when I check the mute status, I am informed that this person is already muted.
Why would I see a muted persons post?
Still using the same name.

At times the system glitches. It can't handle all the tasks it's being asked to do so it doesn't apply a rule that you requested or even the algorithm that limits posts in feeds.

I made a complaint post about my slow feed about a week ago. I used this fact as evidence because the system would never show such a user on my feed... normally that is. That post simply disappeared a few moments later after I replied and a page refresh.

They really need a faster server to accomplish what they are asking of it.

This will happen the more and more as more processing time is needed. Eventually they will have to upgrade the server that they are renting.
