Why do parents push drinking onto their kids whenever they're the legal age?

Bad habits are still bad habits to me. Even if you're not making them an alcoholic or anything like that, it's not like it's good for you regardless

I don’t know a single parent who pushed their kid to drink alcohol .. maybe pushed them out the door first ..
@SW-User I've seen it a lot. I've even seen them push 15-16 year olds into doing it

Idk, but I never responded to the pressure. I don’t drink and that’s been the same since 21. But yes, it is strange. Seems to be a weird society cultural thing

Absolutely right!👍 So i don't take any alcohol, drugs, cigarette...nor my parents did that infront of me!

I don't know but I think it's stupid

Yeah I do think that's stupid tbh. If people want to drink, that's their decision but it's not something you should ever encourage.
@SW-User an Irish person just said its stupid 😯 WAKE UP PEOPLE

Kidding but exactly. If they want to, obviously they can. But I remember as a kid I'd see new 21 year olds be like "Nah I don't want to" And their parents and peers would pressure them until they do.
I just find that so weird
Same with drugs too like why would parents think undeniably bad habits, they know it's not healthy, are a good idea to get their kids into as early as possible?
