Do you ever lie to your family and/or thise around you about your eating/drinking habiits? [I Am Just Curious]

Since I'm a fat lady, I often get accused of bad eating habits, like drinking sodas every day. I've only drunk a few sips of soda at my 4th birthday party, didn't like it, so have never drunk the stuff. If I say, "But I don't drink soda!" they tell me, "That's what my sister used to say. Until my other sister found big boxes of soda hidden in her closet, and then she finally admitted to is she drank several bottles a day." I've heard these stories so much I've come to the conclusion that hiding foods and eating them secretly must be commonplace for some overweight people. Seems sad to me, pathetic, that anyone would feel so intimidated that they would hide food in a closet. I am wondering how common it is. I would never do anything like that, though some of the people I've talked to have convinced me they've had a relative do it. So, does anyone here have a story like that? Have you, or a relative, ever done anything like that? Or are you still doing it? What do you think would happen if you got caught? Wouldn't it be simpler to eat what you want without treating it like a CIA mission?

Yes, I have done but never really thought about why. My flatmate works shifts and we don't often share meal times. If I've ordered takeaway a couple of times recently, I found myself throwing the 'evidence' away in the outside bin, or hiding some of the boxes under other rubbish already in the bin to hide what/how much I had.
