Is not being attracted to a specific race, racist?

I'm curious what people think about that topic so let me know

Pretty much. Even if they don’t have any problem with that particular race and just don’t find them attractive, if they’re not finding them attractive because of their race... 🤷‍♀️ Some would argue that it’s merely preferential, but by that logic, all racism is merely preferential. Might not be the worst form of racial prejudice, but it is what it is.

Thanks for BC!

No, that's fucking ridiculous. Nobody's entitled to other people's affection, and people can't control the skin colors that get 'em hard and/or wet. I empathize for anyone who finds it difficult to date or shag because of their race, but calling someone with a preference racist for not dating that race is akin to calling a gay person sexist for not dating the opposite gender.

No it's just a preference
Not something you can control

My wife and I are a white couple and we swing and have an open marriage.

We typically swing with black couples and wife plays solo only with black men and I play solo with women that define beauty in all its shapes, sizes, and colors.

I think we should define what racism is here, as it seems that some people here believe racism is "treating people of other races differently", which is not at all what racism is...

"Racism" is defined as "prejudice based on race".
"Prejudice" is defined as "The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgements or convictions"

If I don't find a particular person physically attractive, because of their race, am I holding unreasonable pre-conceived judgements against them? No. In this case I am not making a pre-conceived judgement. I am looking at them, and I don't find them physically attractive.

On the other hand, if I don't find a particular person mentally attractive, because of their race, then I would be being racist. In this case I haven't been able to observe their behaviour/personality and thus that would be racist.

So it really depends what you mean by attraction. I'm personally physically attracted to white to light brown colored people. I'm generally not physically attracted to dark skinned people. That's not because I see them as sub-human. Some of my best friends are dark skinned.

If you think we can choose who we are attracted to, then I guess you'd also think homosexuality is a choice too. Something widely disproved by science.
If you arent attracted to her specifically because shes a certain race, yeah, you are racist. The flip side where race is fetishized which has happened to me a surprising amount is also a soft racism. Recognize dont fetishize is the way to go.

I think it can be. Or some people have a specific type. Which is more objectifying than racist. I’ve found out over the years that if you find the right person it doesn’t matter what type they are.

If it's a shared physical trait that's turning you off, probably not. If their just icky to you, could be.
How can it be ? of course not.

@Keysha yes it is fine
@Keysha No if the guy says that he is not into Asians because he is - (lets say White) - and because he is white he is superior to Asians because they do not have the physical or mental capacities that he does. That's called the primary determinant.

@MarmeeMarch wait what
On its own, no. Only sometimes there will be racism behind that preference
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
No. You don’t have to drawn to every race. I’m not drawn to every white man, that’s for sure.

Ofcourse not. People have gone crazy with the racism thing.
