Wasn't a fan of pop culture even in the 60s and 70s. Been known as a rebel all my life.

That even goes as far as sports. I played soccer and wrestled in junior high. Neither were very popular. Heck even my electives were unpopular. I was one of the few boys in typing class.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Adrift No music in either woodshop, nor metalshop in junior high.

A student actually got his finger cut off using a bandsaw. Safety first!
Adrift · 61-69, F
@DeWayfarer They didnt allow music in shop.
We listened to it at home.
Our shop teacher had pictures of severed limbs on the wall as a reminder not to be that guy and to follow saftey rules.
If he caught someone screwing off he would kick them out of the class.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Adrift I once had to have my six month older niece recommend what to wear. That is how much I cared about what was popular.

Yeah I was sort of a geek.

I once dated a popular girl in junior high. She had heard that I went to Germany and by myself. Absolutely gorgeous and with the name. She dumped me because her parents thought I was below her station. And I technically was. Just a fluke that I even went to Germany. Even then it took everything my parents had.

I wished her well!
