This was a book I owned as a child and it fascinated me. It was originally printed in 1959, when even the concept of a person in outer space was more science fiction than fact.
Ah. When I turned 7 my father gave me as a bday present a box full of illustrated books, which by the way were British, and some of those were about the future. Some of it was really...well...like this...
@OnePatheticClown I still say the spinning wheel is probably the best design we've come up with for a space station with simulated gravity, and I'm disappointed that nobody's tried to make one.
@OnePatheticClown I remember collecting a fortnightly science magazine back in the late 80's called Quest... That had a lot of similar concepts of what the 21st century might look like. 乂º◡º乂
I still remember books from my childhood that my mom read to my brother and I. If they didn’t necessarily inspire us, they definitely left a long lasting impression
I remember i was rather dissapointed to see the pics of the attire of those who walked on the moon! I think i expected something like the Wizard of Oz comics 😁
