School truant [I Have Embarrassing Childhood Memories]

I went through a phase of running away from school. My form tutor came up with the idea of confiscating my shoes and socks and school bag at the start of each day so I would be less keen to leave school premises. Going barefoot everywhere was embarrassing in itself, but one day I turned up for PE without going to collect my bag with my kit in first. The teacher made me do gymnastics in my underwear and borrow a towel for showering afterwards 😥

@lizzielost long story on that… it’s just a kid age fight, but in a rare instance, I’m the one who dissed her.

I knew a girl who told me that as a middle school student,her and group of kids that were in after school detention had their shoes and socks confiscated and had to go barefoot for the whole time.It was very embarrassing for her,but she said that looking back she realized that it was a very good method of punishment.

@lizzielost That was probably part of the reason;also to make the students feel vulnerable and shamed,as well disempowered by the school.The idea was to give the students an incentive not to misbehave again.

@lizzielost The girl told me that after the students were made barefoot,they were all told to stand in line.The lady in charge of detention then explained what was expected of them-and in the process made fun of them for being barefoot.
