What are some ideas or beliefs that you had as a child and you are ashamed of them now?

We believe all sorts of silly things that turn out to be false, can you give me an example of yours?

Perhaps not the most shameful thing, but I believed that adults had everything figured out and that they knew what's best.

@kimmy159 oh yes, that is exactly how I felt. Since I have kids of my own, I am not sure whether to tell them that we have absolutely no idea, or I should leave them believing that we have some sort of control.

@sumojumo How old are your kids if I may ask ^^
Hmm I guess it's good to give them some confidence about being able to rely on you for certain decisions until they are old enough to make their own, but perhaps it's also important not to give the idea that you know what is best at all times without some room for dialogue the older they get.

@kimmy159 my oldest is 10 and then 6 and 4. I am trying to make them think on their own. At their own pace - of course, they still that feeling of safety that comes with the belief that their father known EVERYTHING :D

@SweetEssence thank you, I am trying my best - I learned a lot about myself while raising them, and hopefully, they are learning good stuff from me too :)
