How to handle somebody who is insecure

So .... this is my boss . Who has made me believe is super insecure about me . Obviously she has never said it out loud but her behaviour and the comments she makes , make me feel like shes insecure and jealous . She has shown reactions indicating she does not like people we have to work with together in the field talking to me and approaching me , there are only three of us in our company and i have also noticed she does not like for myself and the receptionist to get along . She just makes me feel like i should not be friendly with people we come into contact with at work but the thing is many just prefer to approach me . She mimics me , my responses to chats , she says she wants to be more friendly like me because everyone knows me . And the way she is , really bothers me . I dont understand it firstly , i have spoken to my friend and he says like everyone wants to be like the cool kid but errrrr shes 39 , married , two kids , THE BOSS , I am 33 , single , living alone , just the worker .....i dont understand it . I cant wrap my mind around it . I cant be walking on eggshells all the time worrying about her feelings . Gosh .
