Well, we've got one last Hail Mary play to keep the lights on around here, literally.

I've just put the electric bill in my name, which does away with the back bill that my family owes, because I told them Dad moved out (which is probably happening in the near future anyway, because he's definitely still in the doghouse).

I'm going to do the same with our internet and phone bundle today, and see if they'll do the same thing for me, and then I'm going to ask Verizon about doing the same thing with the cell phone bill. Then, since all the bills are going to be in my name, and my income is literally dependent on the LLC's income (which we keep out of my name in order for my medical benefits not to be affected), I qualify for low income relief grants. (Technically, our whole household should qualify, because our tenants are all of the opinion that rent is optional, even in the face of the houses being foreclosed on and put up for auction, so we're actually not getting any rent money, but the reasoning is that we should be.)

I don't know if Verizon is like Spectrum; if it is, you will likely have a hard time on that one. When I moved and just wanted to transfer my Spectrum account to my new address, I had a hell of a time convincing them I wasn't the old tenant of the house. They were refusing to turn on service until the old bill was paid. I got it done, but was without cable and internet until I did. After well over a week I was on the verge of just getting a different provider, and they finally agreed I was not the old tenant.

@SparkleLeaf Well, I'm fixing to find out on that one. We might need to leave Verizon alone, because we're using my Dad's veterans discount. (It's a whopping $40 a month discount, but every little bit counts.)
