You’re on the island. What are your two items in your bag?

You only get one item per person... I think the order of my items would be...

1) The best item to start a fire with, even in the worst conditions.

2) A big giant pot to cook stuff in and make fresh water with the fire in #1

3) Depending on the conditions, something to cut with, knife, or long blade sword.

4) Items to hunt with, depending on how good.you are with different items, either finishing items or bow and arrows, etc

@sstronaut as I’m watching now… you get one fire starter, one pot, each a personal gathering bag, and a map for you both. And then one personal item each.

@sstronaut so I’m guessing your one item goes to knife or sword at that point.

@DarkHeaven Depending on the environment yes, but something that you can use to can wood and develop tools out of it, yes.

@sstronaut So from you, we’d get a knife or sword and from me we’d get netting for shelter or maybe for catching fish.

@sstronaut I’m torn between the netting and fishing line. We could do a lot with either of those.

@DarkHeaven Netting might work better, but you have to actively be doing that and takes more energy, but if you can get the fish into one spot might be easier to catch.

@DarkHeaven Then again, the experts on the show seem to fish more than net.

@sstronaut and the fishing line could be used to make a snare trap. So maybe the line.

@sstronaut idk? 🤷‍♀️ if the bugs are bad at night, I’d be grateful for the bug netting, though. Sleeping is tough in all of these.

@sstronaut I do. I was raised in the country on my parent’s cattle ranch. I know how to hunt, and trap, and fish… and many things. I’m fairly tough, so I’d be a good partner except for my psych issues now. that would be my only concern but I think in survival mode, that self destructive part of my brain seems to get shut off. So I’d probably to better there. lol

@sstronaut snare traps aren’t hard. I’d show you a couple times and you’d have it down too. I’d have several of them setup, depending on how much line I was provided.

@sstronaut where we see tracks from animal walk paths. Along their drink route is good if there’s nearby trees. Everything has to drink eventually, so it’s where they are vulnerable.

@DarkHeaven and if we get some meat, or something we don't want to eat, we can try to develop it into a crab trap, 🪤 of they have crabs there, but use the knife to cut wood into traps

@sstronaut or a trap for catfish where we carve out a swim route by the edge of the lake or pond and they swim in but can get back out.

@sstronaut one thing I’ve learned watching these is that you have to know what of everything in your environment is safe food. Because you cannot afford to walk past food ever.
