You know you’ve reached next level nerd when your issue with Star Wars isn’t that your a TNG Trek purist…

But more so the fact that it initially totally ripped of Frank Herbert’s Dune.

the strong point of dune is that there isnt really any hero... paul is not a good guy guy at all.. and the fremen are really terrible people too.
while in star wars there is a very obvious divide between good and evil
@BunnyWarrior I would agree with that 💯. Even in the politics part of it, nobody is really good. Just competing interests. I was more talking about the fantasy elements. Not so much the story. And I’d argue at this point that the Star Warz universe has been so much more developed from all the stories written since the first scripted movie that they are very very different altogether at this point.
@BunnyWarrior and I also agree that it makes a more compelling story that everything is not white washed down to just hero against villain.
@BunnyWarrior a fellow Dune fan, I take it?

@BunnyWarrior yeah Paul Atreides is like “hmm if I go South then the Fremen will follow me on a murderous jihad leading to the deaths of millions. I really should stay north therefore but..nah 😜)
@SW-User exactly! But it’s super compelling because there’s so many threads from so many competing interests. And the super powerful Bene Gesserit just complicate things so much more. They have plots within plots.
